It’s good to be back home again after romping through Michigan, Iowa, Texas, and Washington these past few months. I was blessed to be able to speak to more than a thousand women at retreats, conferences, luncheons, and banquets, and I’m finally home and grabbing a breath before heading out again. God is at work in the hearts of women, and many have received Christ and made decisions for recommitment in their faith.
On the Home Front
My dear husband Dan underwent foot surgery a few weeks ago and has graduated to one crutch and partial weight-bearing. Still no driving, however. Thanks to so many of you who chauffeured Dan, helped feed him, and even took him to doctor appointments while I was at Warm Beach Christian Camp and Conference Center for their annual Women’s Retreats and hanging out with my sweet daughter, Jessica, who works at the camp.
Warm Beach Report
The Warm Beach Women’s Retreats were an amazing mix of family time and spiritual renewal with the 900 women who came from Washington and Canada; Thelma Wells (Mama T), the awesome worship band Hallowed, and those of us who were seminar teachers. It was exciting for me to meet with hundreds of women and present sessions based on The Silent Seduction of Self-Talk, my upcoming June release with Moody Publishers. Response to the seminars was overwhelming. Feel free to contact me for booking availability for retreats and conferences at firstname.lastname@example.org.

LaConner, WA, tulip garden
Because the Warm Beach women’s retreats take place on two consecutive weekends, Jessica and George and Thelma Wells and I were able to spend a little extra time at the Seattle outlet malls, as well as the LaConner tulip fields. Words can’t describe what a good time we had!
Silent Seduction of Self-Talk to Release in June
The Silent Seduction of Self-Talk (Moody Publishers) is slated to release this June and is already generating buzz among women attending my seminars across the country. The simple, biblical, and practical strategies presented in the book are applicable to the struggles we all face in our jobs, friendships, marriages, parenting, and in all areas of our lives. The book teaches practical principles for turning up the volume of awareness of our self-talk, evaluating our messages, our motives, and turning our self-talk into God-talk.

Look for Zondervan’s amazing NIV Stewardship Study Bible this fall. I’m truly excited about this project—not just because I wrote 100 devos and the intros for the books of the Bible, but because of the holistic view of stewardship of all areas of life presented in this version of Scripture. This Bible provides a worldview approach on all areas of life.
I’m also working on a new project on the topic of racial and class reconciliation within the evangelical church that’s energized my thinking and is infiltrating my life and writing. More about that later.
And I’m also delving into several new proposals, so stay tuned.
In the meantime, be sure you’re encouraging your friends to pick up their copies of Morningsong (Kregel Publications), the sequel to the Christy Award-winning Hallie’s Heart. An exciting new video trailer promoting Morningsong, produced by Trailers to the Stars! and Misty Taggert will be hitting the Internet soon.
The first three people who post reviews of Morningsong on Amazon will receive a free autographed copy of your choice of any of my books. The content of your review is at your discretion. Simply email me at email@example.com to notify me that the review has been posted and to send me your snailmail information, and I’ll send the book of your choice to you.
